Brain is the most amazing organ of our body. Brain is responsible for controlling various activities in our body like blood circulation, breathing etc. It is the center, which controls our thought process and imaginations. Brain tumor is a risky condition of the brain, where abnormal cells grow and spread in to the surrounding tissues of the brain causing damage to them. The severity of the tumor depends on its type. Basically, brain tumor is classified into two types, as primary and secondary. Primary tumor is one in which the abnormal cell growth is seen in areas close to the brain. In secondary tumor, the cancer that has originated in other parts of the body, will spread and finally affects the brain causing tumor. The later is more dangerous than primary because, the cancerous cells have the tendency to invade and damage the surrounding areas of the brain also. Secondary tumors are more likely to occur than primary. Symptoms of tumor include persistent headache with vomiting, vision problems, hearing problems, memory imbalance and fits. The tumor can be treated easily and there are greater possibilities of recovery if the presence of tumor is detected at an early stage. Hence, if there are any indications of the above symptoms it is advisable to visit a proper physician. With advancements in technology, various treatments are available that includes surgery and radiation therapy. In most cases, surgery is often performed in combination with other treatments. Brain tumor can be dangerous to our life if it is not treated properly. Hence individuals should take care in visiting a proper physician and undergo the necessary treatments for removing the tumor.
